Mandache is another experienced player who started to play in Romania’s first division at just 15 years of age. The 1.84 meter small forward then played abroad in Slovakia, Italy, Hungary, Spain and France but returned to Romania in 2006 where she has won a pair of National Championships with Biandra Targoviste. This season, she was also selected to the All-Star game where she scored eight points. "Andra“ comes from a family where sport is a religion. Her father was an excellent basketball player and is one of the most successful coaches in Romania. Her mother is a sports teacher and former handball player, while her brother, Andrei Rares, is one of the most promising young basketball players in Romania and will probably head to the U.S. this summer to play in the NCAA.
