The Festa dell’Incontro is celebrated on the 5th and the 6th of August in the main square, named Santuario dell’Incoronata. Many people from Vasto and from outside the town get together to see musical shows, dancing and to eat the traditional dishes of Abruzzo like arrosticini, pasta e ceci and dolci casalinghi.

The Processione della Sacra Spina is named after the Sacra Spina which is the holy torne donated by Pio IV to Ferdinando D’Avalos, delegate of the King of Spain at the Trento’s Council. Tradition says it comes from the crown of Jesus.

The Toson d’Oro is celebrated on the 4th week of August. People get dressed in ancient clothes, and a procession parades through the streets of the town. At the end of the day everybody gathers to view fireworks.
