Leuchanka is a rare Belarusian female player not reared in the Gorizont Minsk school. After coming to Minsk from her hometown of Gomel, she spent a short period at Capitol's College of Olympic Reserve and then went to the USA. During her stint playing at a junior college, she was rated as a top prospect but her years in West Virginia were spoiled by numerous knee injuries and surgeries. In three seasons, Leuchanka participated in only 42 games scoring 7.5 points while grabbing 6.2 rebounds and shooting 56.5% from the floor. Health issues and modest stats left her undrafted in the WNBA Draft. But after working out with Charlotte and scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds in her first preseason game, Leuchanka became the first Belarusan ever to play in either a WNBA or an NBA regular-season game. Unfortunately after playing three games for the Sting, the 1.94 meter center had to have surgery and saw action only once more after that. In four games, Leuchanka spent 38 minutes on the floor scoring 12 points, grabbing five rebounds, dishing out three assists and blocking one shot (not just any shot either but that of Lisa Leslie!). She signed a contract with TEO in March and averaged 11.5 points and 6.8 rebounds in the Lithuanian League before moving to Spain to play six games for Estudiantes (9.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg). In April the 24-year-old went back to the WNBA where her rights where acquired by the Houston Comets in a dispersion draft.
