Like Anne Breitreiner, Danckert is also a late bloomer. She started playing ball when she was 14 and it took her just seven years to make her way to the German Bundesliga. Her first season in Germany’s top league was also her most productive, averaging 13.6 points per game for Göttingen. She finished among the 15 best scorers in the league. Former national team head coach Olaf Stolz calls Danckert a “rough diamond” who is not yet certain of her capability. Her fist year outside Germany should have helped her to polish her game and gain more self- confidence. In Italy’s second division Danckert is the go-to-girl for Cantina Sociale Broni putting up 15.7 points and almost eight boards a night.
