Ress concluded her career at Boston College averaging 16.4 points and finishing as the school's fourth all-time leading rebounder with 664. Her stellar career earned her the 24th spot in the 2007 WNBA draft where she was selected by Minnesota.  “Kat” represents the future of the center position for Italian National Team along with Dacic and Eva Giauro.  Next season she will be playing at Famila Schio, where she during her youth years. Her debut in the senior National Team came in 2004 against Germany when she scored six points. Ress has a brother Tomas, who is a professional player in Italy and graduated from Texas A&M in 2003.
