After missing the 2006 World Championship, the daughter of Igor Grudin’s assistant Boris Sokolovski, is returning to the National Team but not for domestic reasons. A much more mature player and person now, Sokolovskaya is burning with the desire to show her best at EuroBasket Women this autumn. A tribute to her nickname “Sokol” (which means “The Falcon”), the Vologda native obsessively hunts for points at every opportunity. She needs to be more aggressive on the boards and still lacks some mental toughness, but after adding a reliable three-point shot to her scoring arsenal she is closer to a complete player.
